1. Geet and Aditya- Jab We Met (2007)
Aditya is shocked to learn that Geet has not returned home. He takes it upon himself to find her and return her to her family. He returns to Manali, where he expects her to be with her new husband. Instead, he finds that Anshuman had turned her out to the streets and refused to marry her. After chastising Anshuman for what he did to her, Aditya leaves and finally tracks Geet down in Shimla, shocked to see what she has become: a quiet, reserved, and miserable schoolteacher. Convincing her to face her circumstances, he manages to bring her back to normal life, and things start to look up for her again. He told her to call Anshuman and take the anger out. She felt good after doing so and the BIG moment happened totally unexpectedly.
2. Aditi and Jai – Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na (2008)
We can’t imagine this scene happening in the current airport security scenario without Jai being shot down, but with a little suspension of disbelief, this scene will melt your heart. Jai fulfilling his ancestral prophecy by falling crazily in love with his best friend made women swoon. We don’t even mind his bad singing – it was just so adorable!
3. Bunny and Naina – Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013)
Bunny is adventurous, Naina is simple. Yet Bunny falls for Naina, hard. But Bunny is selfish. He is greedy when it comes to his dreams, which is also not wrong. But Naina has different ideologies. She asked Bunny whether he is ready to compromise on his dreams. Bunny clearly stated that he can not. But he just didn’t want to let go of that beautiful moment and wanted to hug her tight for one last time.
4. Heer and Jordan – Rockstar (2011)
On the day of her marriage, a rather confused Heer wants to know her true feelings for her “partner in crime” Jordan by getting a long hug from him.
5. Raj and Simran – Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995)
One of the most iconic scenes in the history of Bollywood. Does this scene need any explanation?
6. Aman and Naina – Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003)
Aman infuses life in sceptical and overtly serious Naina, and she falls in love with him. Aman, it is revealed, is dying of a severe condition that is progressively weakening his heart. Knowing that his lifespan is limited, he goes through life facilitating friendships and courtship, and urging people to enjoy themselves in the present moment since “tomorrow might never come”. His excursions into such altruism eventually lead him to sacrifice his love for Naina and instead of playing matchmaker between her and Rohit. As the film progresses, Aman’s health deteriorates. One episode of intense excitement nearly kills him. Naina, in a chance encounter, meets Priya, Aman’s supposed wife who is actually his doctor. She then realises that Aman had lied about his being married to hide his true condition, and possibly, the fact that he may love her in return. She goes to see Aman, and although he defiantly refuses to admit his true feelings, she finally understands that he loves her as well. Aman convinces her to get married to Rohit anyway because he will not be alive for much longer.
7. Rahul and Anjali – Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998)
This scene hits the spot between steamy, sensual and romantic. Rain has always been a staple for romance in Bollywood movies, but this slow dance between Rahul and Anjali was iconic. It was also a game-changing scene because that is when Anjali realised the conflict of being in love with Rahul while being engaged to Aman. Sigh, the ways of the heart!
8. Mawra and Harshvardhan – Sanam Teri Kasam (2016)
When Saraswati’s father throws her out of the house, Inder stands with her against all odds and this brings them close to each other. However, destiny has its own plans. Saraswati and Inder open up and share their feelings with each other.
9. Bittoo and Shruti – Band Baaja Baaraat (2010)
A chance and inopportune meeting (or as you would call it, fate) bring the two of them together on a tumultuous journey where they become partners in their very own, “Wedding planning ka bijness”. The rules, however, are clear: “Jisse vyapaar karo, usse kabhi na pyaar karo” (Don’t mix business with pleasure). However, Shruti falls in love with him and wanted to take this relationship to the next level.
